Job description

Our client is seeking an Industrial Engineer to improve plant layout, manufacturing flow, and overall operational efficiency. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer with hands-on plant layout design experience and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and improve plant and production floor layouts.
  • Optimize equipment placement, work cells, material flow, and space utilization.
  • Identify bottlenecks and improve manufacturing workflow and productivity.
  • Lead/support Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct process, workflow, capacity, and time studies.
  • Support equipment moves and implementation of new production processes.
  • Develop standard work, procedures, and process documentation.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and operations teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 2–4 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Plant layout design/optimization experience required.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or continuous improvement.
  • AutoCAD or similar layout/design software experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
