Job description
Four Seasons Connections Registered Workers are reliable individuals who enjoy working outdoors during the warmer months. Workers are connected with senior clients to assist with seasonal outdoor maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, gardening, yard clean-ups, leaf raking, and other light yard work.
Workers are matched with clients based on job interest, skills, and program needs. Work is client-dependent and weather-dependent, and hours are not guaranteed. Job requests are scheduled directly between the Registered Worker and the client, and all work is paid in cash by the client on the same day the job is completed.
The Successful Candidate for this Position Must Possess the Following Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of lawn maintenance and gardening tasks
- Ability to operate outdoor equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers
- Reside within North York or Midtown Toronto, or have reliable transportation to clients in these areas
- Be a resident of Canada and/or hold a valid work permit
- Youth under the age of 18 must provide parental or guardian consent
- Access to personal lawn care equipment (e.g., lawn mower, trimmer) is considered an asset
- Ability to speak a second language is considered an asset
The Successful Candidate for this Position Must Possess the Following Skills:
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Reliable and able to follow through on commitments
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in warm weather conditions, including heat and light rain
- Familiarity with basic lawn and garden equipment
The Successful Candidate for this Position Must be able to:
- Provide lawn maintenance services, including grass cutting and trimming
- Assist with gardening tasks such as planting, weeding, and garden maintenance
- Perform seasonal yard clean-ups, including leaf raking and debris removal
- Properly operate, care for, and store client-supplied equipment and tools
- Inspect client equipment before use and notify the client if it is unsafe or not functioning properly
- Respond to client requests for service within 48 hours
- Review job requirements with the client and provide an estimated time required to complete the task
- Follow all program policies, procedures, agreements, and health and safety practices
