Job Summary
#J-18808-LjbffrThe UGE Leadman is responsible for leading the crew in the installation/repair of underground lines in a safe manner while maintaining the required quality standards. This position supports the Line team and works with personnel within the department.
Responsibilities- Supervise UGE Laborer/ Groundman staff to include training and coaching.
- Gather materials for the job that day and make sure the crew has everything required.
- Distribute material at job site safely.
- Help with any work necessary to complete the job.
- Operate construction and jobsite equipment safely, such as rubber-tired backhoe, skid steer loader, directional drill, trencher, asphalt paving machine, etc.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- 2 years of related experience or training.
- Valid driver's license.
- 3 or more years of experience.
- Previous supervisory experience in construction and/or the utility industry.
- CDL Class A license.
This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships. Precise hand-eye coordination. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
