Job description
Job Description:
The primary responsibility of the Annual Leadership Giving Officer is the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of Brown Annual Fund Carrie Tower Society level prospects, with a focus on Leader-level giving. The position assumes primary responsibility for management of a pool of Carrie Tower Society prospects ($1,500+) for undergraduate alumni not in a reunion year and for graduate alumni. The incumbent proposes ask amounts and collaborates with relevant Prospect Managers (PMs), in partnership with the Associate Director, Annual Giving, and colleagues overseeing alumni class cohorts.
The Annual Leadership Giving Officer serves as a primary Brown Annual Fund contact with PMs on assigned prospects for undergraduate alumni in non-reunion years and graduate alumni with target asks of $1,500+ in a single year. As PMs release prospects to the Annual Fund, the incumbent either personally solicits them for the Brown Annual Fund or collaborates with other members of the Annual Leadership Giving team or broader Brown Annual Fund program colleagues to assign prospects to appropriate volunteers. The incumbent also takes primary responsibility for soliciting groups of unmanaged and unassigned prospects with the capability of making gifts at the Carrie Tower Society level ($1,500+), while collaborating with colleagues across the Brown Annual Fund team to analyze, identify, and engage key donor segments for upgraded giving and long-term philanthropic participation.
In addition, the Annual Leadership Giving Officer is to provide leadership and oversight for a comprehensive Student Philanthropy Ambassador program. In partnership with colleagues across the division and under the guidance of the Associate Director, Annual Giving, the incumbent is responsible for implementing and managing omnichannel donor engagement and solicitation strategies utilizing phone, email, text, video, and other outreach platforms to engage alumni in philanthropic and University engagement opportunities. The position oversees the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, and professional development of student fundraisers, ensuring compliance with all university and division guidelines and policies. The Annual Leadership Giving Officer establishes outreach strategies, workflows, segmentation, and performance metrics designed to strengthen donor participation and pipeline development.
Through both frontline fundraising and virtual philanthropy leadership, the Annual Leadership Giving Officer advances donor engagement strategies that expand leadership annual giving participation, strengthen stewardship efforts, and support the University's broader Advancement goals.
Education and Experience

Excellent planning, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Must be detail-oriented, creative, and able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to identify/solicit/cultivate/steward volunteers, donors, and/or prospects with the potential to give $10,000+.
Proficiency with a CRM database, spreadsheet, and word processing applications, including Google Suite, Microsoft Word, and Excel, along with demonstrated comfort in dealing with calendar programs, social media, and emerging technologies.
This position requires occasional travel, and the incumbent must be available to work some evenings and weekends, including Brown's annual Commencement-Reunion Weekend.
