Job description

Based in the greater Pittsburgh area, Cemline is a leading manufacturer of tanks, pressure vessels, packaged water heaters, unfired steam clean generators, and replacement tube bundles for plumbing & heating systems, and industrial processes since 1935.


About the Opportunity

We are seeking a strong mechanical engineer with the technical ability and potential to grow into an engineering leadership role. We are open to high-potential individuals who want to develop their leadership skills and eventually take responsibility for an engineering team. This role combines hands-on engineering, project leadership, problem-solving and collaboration with our internal team and external clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, water heaters, steam generators, and related equipment
  • Perform and review engineering calculations involving pressure, vacuum, structural loading, thermal expansion and stress
  • Apply ASME codes and other applicable industry standards to engineering designs
  • Develop and review fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation
  • Work directly with manufacturing to solve design and fabrication challenges
  • Support projects from initial concept through design, manufacturing, testing, and delivery
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers as your experience and responsibilities grow
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, designs and standardization
  • Take on increasing project and leadership responsibilities with the potential to advance into an engineering management position.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Several years of engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing, industrial equipment, fabrication, pressure vessels, or a related industry
  • Strong mechanical design and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, boilers, water heaters, or similar equipment is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with ASME Section VIII or other pressure vessel codes is preferred
  • Strong communication skills and practical, hands-on problem-solving ability
  • Leadership experience is a plus, however we are willing to develop the right candidate into a leadership role.
