Job description

The Business Development Manager –. This role is built for a true hunter — someone who thrives on identifying opportunities, opening doors, and closing deals. The Business Development Manager will prospect and secure new national accounts, expand existing relationships, and position DVP as the go-to partner for large-scale paving, concrete, and maintenance programs.
You’ll collaborate closely with Estimating, Operations, and Project Management to ensure every project you bring in is executed with excellence — reinforcing our reputation for quality, reliability, and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within target industries and national markets.
  • Develop and execute strategic outreach plans to build a strong pipeline of qualified prospects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new and existing national clients — driving sales growth and account expansion.
  • Lead client presentations, proposal development, and contract negotiations.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure estimates, proposals, and project execution align with client expectations.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients to uncover additional needs and upsell new services or regions.
  • Track and analyze sales performance metrics to ensure growth goals are met or exceeded.
  • Support the VP of Account Management in developing nationwide growth strategies, renewals, and long-term partnerships.
  • Represent Delaware Valley Paving at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to increase visibility and lead generation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management — ideally within construction, facilities management, or B2B service industries.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales goals and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, competitive, and goal-oriented with a “hunter” mentality.
  • Ability to manage multiple prospects and clients in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.

What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary with uncapped commission potential.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and 401(k).
  • Career advancement opportunities within a growing, nationally recognized construction leader.
  • A high-performance, team-oriented culture that rewards drive, integrity, and results.
