Job description

Development Associate | Phoenix, AZ

RETS Associates has been retained by a rapidly growing, institutionally backed industrial real estate developer to recruit a Development Associate in Phoenix.

This is far more than a technical underwriting role. While strong financial modeling, analytical skills, and development acumen are required, the firm is ultimately making an EQ hire as much as an IQ hire. Culture, character, judgment, accountability, and leadership potential will carry just as much weight as technical capabilities.

Working directly alongside senior leadership, this individual will gain exposure to the full development lifecycleโ€”from acquisitions and underwriting through capitalization, construction, leasing, and stabilizationโ€”while helping execute a growing pipeline of industrial projects across the Southwest and beyond.

The ideal candidate will have 4โ€“5 years of commercial real estate experience, strong Excel and underwriting skills, and the ability to think critically rather than simply generate analysis. Equally important, they will be outgoing, relationship-oriented, intellectually curious, humble, and possess a genuine desire to grow into a future leadership role.

Backed by significant institutional capital, the company has already deployed over $1 billion and is aggressively scaling its platform. Leadership views this hire as a potential long-term successor and future leader within the organization, creating a rare opportunity for accelerated career growth and mentorship.

Compensation: $120,000โ€“$140,000 base + target bonus (~30%) + potential long-term incentive participation

The firm is open on experience, if you are more experienced, please don't hesitate to reach out to andrew@retsusa.com
