Summary
ME Elecmetal is seeking an experienced Product Design Leader - Crushing Products & Solutions to lead our crusher wear parts design team within North America. This leadership role is responsible for managing design resources, driving product development initiatives, and ensuring engineering solutions align with customer requirements and business objectives.
The successful candidate will oversee designers, drafters, and external engineering resources involved in the design, reverse engineering, and optimization of crusher wear parts. Leveraging advanced scanning technologies, CAD modeling, and data-driven analysis, you will play a key role in developing innovative solutions that improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and enhance mineral processing performance.
This position requires close collaboration with customers, product managers, account managers, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate operational challenges into effective technical solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of designers, drafters, and external engineering resources.
  • Manage project priorities, engineering workloads, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure adherence to design management processes, drawing standards, design manuals, and Engineering Change Order (ECO) procedures.
  • Oversee engineering schedules and ensure timely completion of design projects and ECO implementation.
  • Direct the design and reverse engineering of crusher wear parts and crushing solutions.
  • Develop new products and enhancements using advanced 3D CAD modeling and detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • Support crusher chamber optimization initiatives through innovative wear-part design and performance analysis.
  • Utilize field data and operational feedback to drive continuous product improvement.
  • Apply data-driven methodologies to optimize wear-part geometry, material selection, and product performance.
  • Champion innovation through advanced scanning technologies, CAD tools, and reverse-engineering methodologies.
  • Promote best practices in engineering design, drafting standards, and product development processes.
  • Share technical expertise across the organization to support crusher chamber optimization and broader engineering initiatives.
  • Manage design software environments, including licensing and system administration support.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and managing engineering projects.
  • Advanced proficiency with CAD and Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
  • Extensive experience with Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault Professional.
  • Strong understanding of ASME Y14.5-2009 and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel to customer and mine sites as needed.
