Job description

Job Summary:

The Bulk Plant Manager position is a working management role and is responsible for leading and directing all areas of sales, storage, and distribution of petroleum products, propane, and lubricants for the bulk plant.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Adhere and comply with the companys handbook and company policies.
  • Manage day-to-day operations to ensure all services and deliveries are completed according to operating standards and customer expectations.
  • Hire train, motivate, coach, and mentor employees as they provide attentive, efficient service to customers, assess employee performance, and provide feedback as needed.
  • Build customer trust and confidence with consistently high service and delivery standards.
  • Check and set daily pricing of gasoline, diesel fuel, def, and propane for location.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies to meet customer needs and eliminate loss and waste.
  • Actively seek new customers and make sales calls.
  • Resolve conflict and take disciplinary action as needed.
  • Ensure DOT compliance including hours of service.
  • Coordinate staffing and work to meet organizational and operational goals and objectives.
  • Prepare departmental cost analysis and monitor operational metrics and reporting.
  • Audit internal processes and invoicing for accuracy.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with all safety policies and federal, state, and local regulations; verify completion of all required safety training, inspections, and recordkeeping.
  • Analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Preference:

Education:

  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • BS degree in Business, Management, or related field preferred.
  • One year of manufacturing or vocational experience preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of management needed and related industry experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of business management, Inventory mgmt., financial, and leadership principles needed.

Certificate, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Current Drivers License required
  • Commercial Drivers license with hazmat and tanker endorsement preferred.
  • Propane certified to help provide service, leak testing, and inspections of propane systems. If not currently certified, must obtain certification from the Railroad Commission within 6 months required.

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Ability to read, write and understand English required; and ability to read work orders required.
  • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities and work with tight deadlines while exercising attention to detail required.
  • Strong math abilities include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and working with fractions, percentages, and decimals required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and other industry software platforms required.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Duties and responsibilities are performed indoors and in outside weather conditions.
