Job Title: Lead Teacher (Ages 6 Weeks – 5 Years)
Location: Large Licensed Childcare Center
Employment Type: Full-Time


 Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, nurturing, and motivated Lead Teacher to join our large, high-quality childcare center serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment while leading classroom staff and fostering positive relationships with families.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Implement age-appropriate curriculum
  • Create a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Lead, mentor, and support assistant teachers and classroom aides
  • Conduct ongoing observations and assessments of children’s development
  • Maintain accurate records and developmental documentation
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with families regarding their child’s progress
  • Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and center policies
  • Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
  • Maintain a structured daily schedule that includes play, learning, meals, and rest
  • Foster positive behavior using developmentally appropriate guidance techniques


 Qualifications

  • Minimum age requirement as required by state licensing
  • CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)
  • Experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years (preferred)
  • Prior leadership experience in a childcare setting preferred
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Utah State Food Handlers Certification
  • Ability to pass background check and meet all state licensing requirements
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
