We are seeking an enthusiastic and polished Host Stand Lead Receptionist to be the welcoming face, and first point of contact for members and guests, providing a warm, professional welcome while delivering exceptional customer service and administrative support. ย This is a key front-line role that is critical to the seamless operation of the front desk and dining areas, ensuring accurate reservations, effective communication across departments, and consistent enforcement of club policies. Responsibilities include managing reservation systems, assisting with Food & Beverage communication, supporting internal departments, and maintaining the reception area to club standards. Additionally, this role includes overseeing the performance of the host team, training new hosts, and ensuring consistent service standards are met at the host stand.

Responsibilities



Member & Guest Services

  • Greet all members and guests with a warm, courteous, and professional demeanor.
  • Handle guest inquiries, special requests, or concerns with professionalism and discretion.
  • Communicate effectively with servers and management about reservations, table availability, and special arrangements.
  • Encourage participation in upcoming events by staying informed and promoting club happenings.
  • Communicate with servers and managers regarding availability of tables, seating of large parties, or special requests so that guests receive seamless service.
  • Walk members and guests to their tables, providing accurate menus specific to the dining space.

Reservations & Communication

  • Accurately plan, schedule, and confirm all dining reservations.
  • Manage the club's reservation system and provide accurate reservation lists to the Food & Beverage team.
  • Answer phones, transfer calls, and respond to voicemails and emails in a timely and professional manner.
  • Confirm reservations via phone and email; input and manage special requests or dietary notes.
  • Knowledge of upcoming events and dining as to encourage members to participate in Club events and dining.ย 
  • Assist in coordinating special events and club functions as needed.


Host Team Leadership

  • Train new host/hostess staff to ensure understanding of club policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Supervise daily performance of host team members, providing guidance, coaching, and real-time feedback to maintain consistent service quality.
  • Serve as the point of contact for host team questions and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Lead by example in professionalism, appearance, communication, and service.


Administrative & Technical Duties

  • Assist with printing and stocking of Menus, maintaining that they are accurate and up to date.
  • Ensure accuracy of the Club website in line with Food & Beverage's operation (e.g., reservations, menus, hours of operation).
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, organizing mail, maintaining front desk supplies, and supporting internal departments during busy seasons (e.g., Accounting for billing and chits).
  • Assist in coordinating special events and club functions as needed.


Facility & Appearance Management

  • Ensure host stand and coat racks are organized, clean, and presentable at all times.
  • Monitor and restock supplies for both administrative and member-facing needs.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs or service calls.


To-Go Order Management

  • Take accurate and detailed to-go food and beverage orders via phone or in person.
  • Input orders into the POS system promptly and ensure all special requests or dietary needs are clearly communicated.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and food & beverage teams to ensure timely preparation and accurate packaging of to-go orders.
  • Confirm order details and pickup times with members; ensure a smooth handoff at the designated pickup location.


Team Support & Collaboration

  • Work closely with servers, bartenders, and managers to ensure efficient table turnover and guest satisfaction.
  • Support the Member Services Coordinator and other departments as requested.
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute positively to team initiatives and club operations.
  • Treats members/guests and fellow employees with respect, works with integrity and ethically upholds organizational values
  • Other duties as assigned.






Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrate a high caliber of professionalism and presentation, commensurate with the expectations of a private club setting.
  • Demonstrated organization and coordination skills and ability to meet deadlines and ability to multi-task in a sporadic, fast-paced guest-facing setting.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with reservation systems, Jonas preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and evenings required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, squat, kneel, reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to hot/cold temperatures and varied weather conditions.
  • Must be able to navigate stairs and uneven ground safely.
  • Independent mobility required.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour plus tips.
