As a Senior Software Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in iOS development to deliver next-generation in-store features, enabling customers to seamlessly shop items within the store. You will also build innovative in-store digital engagement features - including QR codes, Store Mode, Store Maps, and Store Pages - within the Walmart iOS App. Your work will power cutting-edge technology that enhances and personalizes the shopping experience for millions of Walmart customers.

Our team enables the in-store shopping journey through Store Mode, delivering omni-shopping features that make it easier for customers to discover products, navigate the store, and check out with confidence. With Walmart accelerating investments in mobile technology and platform modernization, we’re hiring engineers who love solving complex problems at scale.
What you'll do:
  • Design, develop, and ship advanced iOS apps using Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Combine, Core Data, and Core Animation.
  • Build in-store and omnichannel experiences in the Walmart iOS app:  Customizations, Store Mode, Store Maps, Store Pages, and QR features.
  • Lead end-to-end feature delivery; collaborate with backend (Node.js, GraphQL) and frontend teams on scalable solutions.
  • Serve as technical lead and mentor via code reviews, coaching, and best-practice adoption.
  • Shape architecture for performance, reliability, maintainability, and scale.
  • Drive availability, quality, resiliency, and developer productivity through better tooling.
  • Partner with Product, UX, and Design to translate requirements into seamless experiences.
  • Own lifecycle from design through testing, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.

What you'll bring:
  • 5+ years building iOS apps with Swift, SwiftUI, and modern architectures (MVVM, VIPER, Clean, Coordinators).
  • Strong iOS SDK expertise: UIKit, Swift Concurrency (async/await), and Combine.
  • Integrate with backend APIs (REST, GraphQL, JSON/HTTP); familiarity with Node.js services.
  • Solid CS fundamentals: design principles, data structures, algorithms, distributed systems.
  • Strong debugging and performance optimization, including memory management and stability improvements.
  • Write unit/UI tests, automate workflows, and conduct thorough code reviews.
  • Use third-party libraries and dependency managers (SPM, CocoaPods, Carthage).
  • Translate wireframes into pixel-perfect UI with Auto Layout and SwiftUI.
  • Collaborate and decide effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
  • Nice to Have: Knowledge of MapKit, push notification, CloudKit, accessibility, App Store/TestFlight and performance instrumentation.
