As a Senior Content Designer, you will shape the future of digital health through clear, human-centered content that makes complex health information understandable, actionable, and accessible. This role sits at the intersection of content strategy, product design, brand, research, and regulated healthcare communication.

You will lead content design across our connected ecosystem, including mobile apps, device interfaces, onboarding experiences, support flows, service touchpoints, and other digital and physical product experiences. You'll work across the full design lifecycle - from discovery and concept development through launch, iteration, and scale - partnering with product designers, researchers, product managers, engineers, marketers, regulatory, legal, clinical experts, and business stakeholders.

This role is ideal for a senior content practitioner who thinks strategically, writes with precision, thrives in complex systems, and advocates for users while navigating regulated product development. You will bring clarity to ambiguity, influence product strategy through language, and help evolve scalable content patterns, standards, and systems across a global product ecosystem.

This role is full-time and remote, with regular travel to Alameda, CA for team collaboration, workshops, and leadership alignment.

What You'll Do

Lead Content Strategy

  • Lead content strategy and UX writing for digital health products, including mobile apps, device interfaces, onboarding flows, notifications, help and support, error states, educational content, and service touchpoints.
  • Translate complex medical, technical, and regulatory information into clear, concise, user-centered language.
  • Shape end-to-end user journeys by defining content needs, messaging hierarchy, terminology, voice, tone, and communication patterns.
  • Partner with design and research to identify user needs, uncover content opportunities, and develop intuitive flows that support comprehension, confidence, and action.
  • Create content for early concepts, prototypes, usability testing, product launches, and post-launch optimization.
  • Use storytelling to connect user needs, product strategy, and business goals.

Build Scalable Content Systems

  • Develop and evolve content frameworks, taxonomies, naming systems, terminology standards, and UX writing patterns across the product ecosystem.
  • Contribute to content guidelines, voice and tone standards, accessibility guidance, and reusable content components.
  • Partner with brand and design system teams to ensure content aligns with ADC's brand expression, product experience, and design system standards.
  • Define content patterns for recurring product moments such as onboarding, alerts, confirmations, empty states, errors, permissions, data explanations, and support pathways.
  • Ensure content scales across platforms, markets, localization workflows, and regulated review processes.

Collaborate Across Functions

  • Partner closely with product, design, research, engineering, marketing, clinical, legal, regulatory, quality, and localization teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead content discussions in design reviews, critiques, research readouts, and cross-functional working sessions.
  • Influence product decisions by identifying content risks, usability issues, comprehension gaps, and opportunities to simplify the experience.
  • Help teams align around clear content requirements, messaging principles, and experience goals.

Champion User-Centered Craft

  • Use research, usability testing, analytics, accessibility standards, and product data to inform content decisions.

Experience You'll Bring

Required
  • 6+ years of experience as a content designer, UX writer, content strategist, or similar role.
  • A portfolio demonstrating senior-level, end-to-end, user-centered content design across digital products, showing strategic thinking alongside polished execution.
  • Exceptional writing skills with a proven ability to simplify complex, technical, or medical information for diverse audiences.
  • Systems thinking: proven ability to build and scale content frameworks, guidelines, and component libraries across multiple products or platforms.
  • Experience leading and influencing cross-functional product teams, with strong communication and stakeholder alignment skills.
  • Proficiency in Figma, including working directly within design files, component libraries, and collaborative design workflows.
Preferred
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, medical devices, finance), with a working knowledge of compliance considerations in content.
  • Experience with medical, scientific, or health-related content and the ability to collaborate fluently with clinical and regulatory partners.
  • Experience designing for global products, including localization workflows and multi-market content strategy.
  • Deep expertise in accessibility standards, including WCAG and inclusive language best practices.
  • Experience shaping or evolving content systems within a design system at scale.
  • Curiosity for emerging tools and AI-enabled content workflows, with the ability to evaluate where automation can improve speed, consistency, accessibility, and quality without compromising user trust, accuracy, or compliance.
