As a Lead Android SDK Engineer, you will guide the strategic and technical direction of our Android SDK platform, which enables gaming and app developers to monetize their applications through advertising. You will lead a team of Android engineers, partner with cross-functional stakeholders, and translate business requirements into scalable, high-quality technical solutions that reach millions of users worldwide.

You will be a key technical leader within our Android organization and will collaborate closely with our iOS, QA, Product, and Engineering Management partners across our global offices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of Android SDK engineers, fostering growth, accountability, and engineering excellence
  • Architect and design SDK solutions that span multiple teams and serve diverse business requirements
  • Synthesize product, partner, and business needs into clear technical designs and high-quality implementations
  • Drive the evolution of our advertising-focused SDKs, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability across the platform
  • Establish and continuously improve Claude Code and other AI-assisted workflows to enhance team-wide code quality, productivity, and efficiency
  • Lead code reviews, set engineering standards, and champion best practices across the Android team
  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and Staff engineers on feature definition and execution
  • Investigate and resolve complex creative rendering, performance, and integration issues
  • Oversee the design and maintenance of test apps used to validate SDK functionality
  • Define and own the unit and integration test strategy for SDK components
  • Author and review technical documentation for SDK integration
  • Stay current with Android ecosystem trends and share insights to elevate the team's technical capabilities

Key Skills & Experience

Required:

  • Demonstrated team leadership experience, including mentoring engineers, driving technical roadmaps, and cultivating a high-performing team culture
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to engineering, product, and business stakeholders across our global teams in the USA, Poland, and Ukraine
  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate engineering workflows, improve code quality, and drive team-wide productivity gains
  • Experience designing testing strategies and validation workflows that verify the correctness, safety, and reliability of LLM-generated code, including code review practices, automated checks, and appropriate guardrails before merge
  • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, including reusable workflows, matrix builds, and release automation for SDK distribution
  • Production experience with the Bazel build system, including authoring and maintaining BUILD files, managing dependencies, and optimizing build and test performance for large-scale codebases
  • Proven track record of architecting and designing cross-team systems, with the ability to synthesize stakeholder requirements and business needs into clear technical designs and production-ready code
  • Strong understanding of Kotlin coroutines, structured concurrency, and threading models, including practical experience designing concurrent and asynchronous workflows in Android
  • A proactive ethos: a self-starter who anticipates challenges, identifies opportunities for improvement, and drives initiatives to completion with minimal oversight
  • 8+ years of commercial mobile development experience, with at least 5+ years focused on Android
  • Substantial SDK development experience, including versioning strategy, backward compatibility, and developer-facing API design
  • Expert proficiency in Kotlin and Java
  • Deep expertise with architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVP, and Clean Architecture
  • Comprehensive knowledge of core Android concepts, including Activities, Fragments, Services, application lifecycle and state management, UI development (XML layouts and Jetpack Compose), and networking libraries (Retrofit, OkHttp)
  • Proficiency with Android Studio and the Gradle build system
  • Strong software testing practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and JSON data handling
  • Working knowledge of iOS/Swift development to support cross-platform collaboration
  • Proficiency with Git version control and modern branching strategies
