This combined Personal Banker/Lead Teller position plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer experiences, supporting branch growth, and ensuring operational excellence. The role is responsible for leading teller line activities, maintaining efficient branch operations, and promoting a culture of service, accuracy, and compliance. Through proactive customer outreach and a strong understanding of the bank's products and services, the position helps deepen existing relationships, identify new opportunities, and connect customers with solutions that support their financial goals.
In addition to customer relationship management, the position provides leadership and oversight for teller operations, including staff training, scheduling, coaching, cash controls, and daily balancing activities. This role helps ensure adherence to all bank policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations, including BSA/AML requirements, while supporting a positive team environment and representing the bank within the community. Through a combination of sales, service, and operational leadership, this position contributes directly to the overall success of the branch and the bank.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two to three years of bank teller experience preferred
  • One year supervisory/management experience preferred
  • Proficient computer skills, math skills, written and oral communication skills, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to problem solve and recognize when action is needed
  • Excellent time management skills. Must be able to reprioritize workload as needed
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while adapting to changes in processes and workflow
  • Demonstrates great attention to detail
  • Uses sound judgment in decision making
  • Ability to work independently while supervising others
  • Ability to effectively train others by adapting to the learning style of the trainee
  • Required to have the ability to lift 25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds on occasion, and stand for long periods of time
  • Has access to reliable transportation
  • NMLS# required to sell and service HELOC's. If not licensed previously, compliance with the licensing requirements will be necessary (including background check and fingerprinting)
  • Ability to always exhibit NBC core values: Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, and Accountability

The pay range for this position is $23.00 to $35.00 per hour, contingent on relevant skills, training, experience, education and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation.
