The position requires a highly skilled Android expert with deep experience in Android platform development, including the Android framework and high-level application development. A successful candidate will be expected to drive initiatives that leverage AI to create innovative camera and audio experiences within the unified communications (UC) product portfolio. They will also lead the integration of both in-house and third-party camera and audio devices with our UC Android platform, ensuring seamless functionality and resolving complex field issues as they arise. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge UC technologies designed for modern conference rooms and home office environments. The candidate should be self-motivated, inventive, and thrives in fast-paced settings where solving challenging technical problems is part of the everyday experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-domain effort to create innovative application solutions for our UC product offerings including new UC feature development at both framework and application levels.
  • Participate in full lifecycle product development (in an agile environment) including software architecture/design, documentation, implementation, project estimates, scheduling, integration planning and deliveries.
  • Develop a full, hands-on understanding of our existing system and application framework to allow for future development, support of other developers, and troubleshooting of issues.
  • Lead and contribute the integration of in-house or 3rd-party cameras and audio devices into our UC Android platforms.
  • Create and demonstrate proof of concepts promptly to guide business decisions.
  • Help to drive continuous improvement and integration of legacy software projects during ongoing development as well as research and innovate technologies to come up with simple, original engineering solutions to complicated problems and customer demands.
  • Analyze and problem-solve field issues and provide onsite support as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent
  • 10+ years Software development experience on Android platform, including embedded Android systems as well working with the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and building the Android OS
  • 3-5 years' experience in object-oriented programming with C/C++/Java/Kotlin and modular design.
  • 2-4 years solid experience serving as the lead developer throughout the full, end-to-end software development lifecycle. This includes scoping, planning, conception, design, implementation, code review, testing, and delivery.
  • 4-6 years' experience driving continuous technological innovation and deliveries as well as dealing with complex and ambiguous problems
  • Experience in Android platform, Android Open Source Project (AOSP), embedded Android systems.
  • Experience in C/C++/Java/Kotlin and modular design
  • Self-starter and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
  • Proven track record of learning and applying new technologies quickly.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate development strategies, architecture, and design.
  • Knowledge of JIRA/Confluence/Git/Gerrit/GitHub/SVN for product development

Per applicable state requirements, the annual pay range for this position ($129,000 - $209,000) which consists of base salary (subject to performance), reflects the hiring range for candidates. Also note, an individual's offer may vary from this range as it may be impacted by additional factors, including but not limited to the candidate's hiring location, qualifications, experience, and market factors.
