Clinician III (LE)

Colonial Behavioral Health (CBH) provides opportunities for recovery and support to individuals and families affected by mental illness, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities. Serving James City County, the City of Poquoson, the City of Williamsburg, and York County, CBH is committed to connecting individuals and families with the services and supports they need to thrive.

We are seeking a Clinician III (LE) to join our Child & Adolescent Program. This position provides clinical services to children and adolescents experiencing serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders, helping them and their families access the care, resources, and support they need to achieve their goals.

This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate, collaborative clinician who is passionate about working with young people and their families and wants to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Job Duties
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling and psychotherapy to children and adolescents.
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and evaluations, including diagnostic assessment.
  • Develop individualized, recovery-oriented service and treatment plans based on each individual's strengths, needs, goals, and preferences.
  • Monitor client progress, service delivery, physical and mental well-being, and satisfaction throughout treatment.
  • Coordinate and connect individuals and families with appropriate behavioral health services, community resources, and other supports.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency policies and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with families, treatment team members, community providers, and other professionals to support positive outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule

Monday–Friday 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Qualifications (EEO)
  • Ability to assess and treat co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Knowledge of and experience with group counseling, family systems, and motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive, recovery-oriented treatment plans in accordance with agency guidelines.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of clinical assessments, therapeutic interventions, and outcome measures relevant to the population served.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, families, and multidisciplinary treatment teams.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Master's Degree in a human services field required.
  • Resident in Counseling or Supervisee in Social Work required.
