Excellent communication, negotiation, and critical thinking abilities set outstanding lawyers apart. As a Legal Document Assistant (LDA), you can expect a variety of responsibilities throughout the week, including preparing and filing legal documents, assisting clients with paperwork, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. What is an LDA?

Legal Document Assistants (LDAs) are professionals authorized to help people prepare legal documents, but they are not lawyers and cannot provide legal advice or represent clients in court. LDAs assist with paperwork for matters such as divorce, wills, trusts, and other legal filings, making the process more accessible and affordable for individuals who do not require full legal representation. They are regulated in some states, like California, where they must register and meet specific qualifications. Clients benefit from LDAs by saving on legal fees while ensuring documents are correctly prepared and filed.
