Job description

Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana seeks energetic, self-motivated, dynamic Social Work professionals to join its expanding veterans' impact team. Our non-profit organization is a dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential.
The Clinical Social Worker will provide services to veterans through individual and group programming focused on reducing suicide risk factors. Activities will involve crisis assessments, mental health screenings including those that address depression, economic stability and support networks. The Clinical Social Worker will assist site staff such as case managers with crisis related support and lead efforts through outreach and community education.
The Clinical Social Worker will have a Bachelor Degree in Social Work or Counseling with experience with mental health and substance abuse. A successful candidate will have demonstrated skills using clinical techniques such as motivational interviewing and the ability to document activities accurately through progress notes and data collection tools. Additional experience navigating community resources with an emphasis of homelessness, unemployment and connection to essential service providers preferred.

A valid OH/IN driver's license and proof of individual automobile insurance is required in addition to a driving record that is in compliance with Volunteers of America only if the employee is assigned to a transport program, participants, or any other type of activity that mandates driving. First Aid & CPR certification is required and must be maintained. VOAOHIN will provide certification if not already obtained
