Summary

Responsible for processing incoming and outgoing shipments. This team member will help receive and organize shipments of records and supplies for storage while also locating and pulling records as requested. Organizes and helps to categorize chart boxes and records to maintain a cataloged system. At times the team member will scan and upload pulled charts in accordance with HIPAA regulations for office and patient needs.

Essential Functions

  • ⁠Comfortable working in typical warehouse attire and conditions
  • Ability to diagnose problems and/or situations that arise at local office
  • Load, unload, pick, put away, consolidate, stack and stage boxes of records and materials using a pallet jack and or other equipment.
  • Review inventory of all incoming shipments of records for accuracy.
  • Assign barcodes to the incoming shipments for tracking and locating.
  • Support shipments from the warehouse to vision centers.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancy of incoming or outgoing shipments.
  • Perform all physical requirements without assistance.
  • Travel between facilities when necessary.
  • Lift, load and move boxes (each box can up to 40 to 60 pounds) daily.
  • Communicate problems, concerns and ideas to management.
  • Identify process improvements
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the record center.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Participate in all assigned training programs and adhere to all guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers, always.
  • Assist in various record center maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, storing equip, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Other Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 - 5-year experience in working in a warehouse/receiving fulfillment atmosphere.
    • A plus is having experience handling Medical Records and/or PHI a plus.
  • Previous experience within medical environment
