The Position:
We are currently hiring an Assistant Project Manager at our Emmetsburg location. We are looking for candidates who are innovative, self-motivated, with exceptional decision-making skills.
In this role, candidates must be able to build and maintain relationships with customers, employees, and other trades. The Assistant Project Manager must work closely with Project Managers and field supervisors, to manage and monitor progress of construction projects. Candidates must be able to adapt to changing work environments, be actively engaged in K&W Electric, Inc.'s safety policies, and be able to maintain a positive image of one's self and of the Company.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Direct team members (employee-owners and consultants) at all levels on contract administration
  • Assist in management of any number of projects at various stages of work
  • Consult with clients and prepare information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs and construction time.
  • Plan layout of projects and scheduling
  • Originate required permits and locates when necessary
  • Attend pre-construction and progress meetings
  • Order all major items of material and schedule the delivery
  • Conduct periodic onsite observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans
  • Work with accounting on billings; including any stored material billings that could be processed
  • Work with warehouse on miscellaneous material orders and deliveries
  • Oversee that contractual relations are followed
  • Review shop drawings and arrange for approval from engineers
  • Originate certifications when applicable
  • Review crew's timesheets weekly for accuracy

Minimum Requirements and Experience:
  • Ability to collaborate and contribute within a team structure
  • Capability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience or ability to learn industry specific software such as CAD, Bluebeam, Revit, Procore
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or applicable discipline, or equivalent experience in construction management
  • A valid Driver's License with ability to meet company driving standards
  • Successfully passing drug and background screenings

Salary is negotiable, based on qualifications: electrical knowledge and previous experience.
