Job description

Robert Half is searching a Senior Network Engineer to support corporate network infrastructure with a strong focus on FortiGate firewalls and FortiGate SD-WAN solutions. This position is Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) and is a 6 month contract with the potential to hire. Apply today!


Duration: 6 month contract to hire

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 to 5pm PST

Location: Hybrid, 3 days onsite, 2 days remote (Tuesdays and Thursdays mandatory, 3rd day flexible)


  • Configure, manage, and support FortiGate SD-WAN solutions, including hands-on implementation and installation.
  • Configure and maintain routing protocols and network connectivity within firewall and SD-WAN environments.
  • Support Layer 1 and Layer 2 switching and routing within a corporate IT networking environment.
  • Participate in the implementation of new SD-WAN solutions, including hands-on configuration, installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues across firewalls, switches, routers, and related infrastructure.
  • Independently investigate and resolve technical issues while determining appropriate solutions with minimal direction.
  • Document technical changes, troubleshooting activities, and implementation progress.
  • Communicate proactively with technical teams and stakeholders regarding status, issues, and resolution efforts.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and network issues from identification through resolution.


  • Senior-level network engineering experience with the ability to work independently and handle complex technical tasks with minimal direction.
  • Deep hands-on experience configuring FortiGate SD-WAN solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with FortiGate firewall management and configuration.
  • Strong corporate IT networking experience, including hands-on Layer 1 and Layer 2 switching and routing.
  • Experience with networking technologies from vendors such as Cisco, Aruba, or Juniper.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently assess problems, identify solutions, and take action without extensive oversight.
