Job description

Position Summary

As a Laydown Yard Operator, you will be responsible for operating a Class 7 heavy-duty outdoor forklifts and telehandlers to unload poles and heavy materials for high voltage lines from flatbed trucks and storing the inventory away in the yard.
This role requires prior Class 7 heavy-duty outdoor forklift and Telehandler forklift operating experience, a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Unload poles and heavy materials for high voltage lines from flatbed trucks
  • Store inventory in the yard
  • Operate Class 7 heavy-duty outdoor forklifts and telehandlers safely and effectively
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements to perform the job safely
  • PPE Required: Steel toed shoes or boots. Additional PPE provided
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience operating Class 7 heavy-duty forklifts and telehandlers. Certification is a plus.
  • First Aid certification preferred.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must have the physical stamina handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to lift weight up to 50 lbs.
Employment Type & Compensation
