Fixed Facilities Technician for the LAX Automated People Mover - PLUMBING

Express Employment Professionals of LAX/Hawthorne is seeking an Fixed Facilities Technician for the LAX Automated People Mover (LAX APM).

Hours: 2nd & 3rd Shift (including weekends and holidays)

Pay Rate: Starts at $25+ up to 30.15

Job Description for Operations Technician:

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on fixed facilities to ensure optimal performance. (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in APM systems.
  • Conduct repairs and replacements of components as necessary.
  • Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and inspections.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing all tasks.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical skills.
  • Respond to emergency situations and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements for Operations Technician:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in the English Language
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have normal color vision
  • Must be able to work variable hours and shifts
  • Basic mechanical or maintenance experience, understanding of use with general hand tools
  • Basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office programs

Minimum Physical Requirements for Operations Technician:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, bend, stoop and hear
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds
  • May occasionally be required to climb steep stairs and walk long distances.
  • Work on elevated surfaces is required
  • Work may be performed inside the facility or outside in various weather elements
  • Able to observe multiple screens and monitors on a continuous basis

Preferred Qualifications for Operations Technician:

  • Entry Level - Will be considered 
  • 2 years electrical/mechanical experience or equivalent technical school training
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of computer driven software applications
