Position Summary:

Construction Equipment Mechanic coordinates and collaborates daily with customers and employees to achieve results. Primary areas of responsibility include:

  • Perform mechanic duties adhering to areas of service, quality, safety, and overall effectiveness related to Key Performance Indicators. This includes ownership for downtime and accountability for timely availability of the equipment.

  • Adhere to performance and safety standards in all areas of the shop.

  • Enhance service department and organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Reporting Structure

Construction Equipment Mechanic will report directly to the Shop Supervisor. This person is also expected to interface with other management, including the leaders of the different business divisions.

Essential Functions & Major Accountabilities

  • Previous demonstration of successful mechanic experience.

  • Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical (not electronic) principles.

  • Gas, stick welding, fabrication, and torch use.

  • Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.

  • Operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.

  • Communicate effectively with manager, colleagues, and clients.

  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Troubleshooting via determining causes of operating errors and appropriate solutions.

  • Mentorship of other technicians
