Position Summary
The Lawn Care Foreman leads a lawn care crew and is responsible for delivering high-quality turf maintenance services while ensuring efficiency, safety, and excellent customer satisfaction. This role combines hands-on lawn care work with crew leadership, training, and daily route coordination.
The Lawn Care Foreman is expected to model DeHamer Landscaping's Mission, Vision, and Core Values while leading the team to complete work on time, within budget, and to company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Crew Leadership & Daily Operations
  • Lead and supervise a lawn care crew on daily routes
  • Plan and manage the loading and unloading of trucks and trailers with required equipment
  • Schedule and prioritize daily tasks to maximize efficiency and productivity
  • Supervise crew members to ensure safety, quality, and performance standards are met
  • Train and coach crew members on proper lawn care techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures
  • Enforce cleanliness and organization standards for trucks, trailers, equipment, and job sites

Lawn Care & Property Maintenance
  • Perform and oversee lawn care services including:
    • Mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing
    • Weed whipping and turf maintenance
    • Seasonal services such as spring and fall cleanups
  • Inspect daily work to ensure it meets company quality standards and client expectations
  • Identify turf health issues, irrigation concerns, or property hazards and report findings

Communication & Customer Service
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with customers on-site
  • Address client questions or concerns and escalate issues as needed
  • Communicate daily progress, issues, and needs with management

Safety, Reporting & Accountability
  • Enforce all safety policies and ensure crew compliance
  • Operate and maintain lawn care equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and spreaders
  • Complete daily reports, time tracking, and job documentation
  • Assist with snow removal or other seasonal services when applicable

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of lawn care or landscape maintenance experience
  • Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of turf maintenance practices and equipment operation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (chauffeur's license required)
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
