Position Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of laundry duties in maintaining the facility in an orderly, sanitary condition; and in collecting and laundering of linens, garments, and washables.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect soiled linens from throughout the facility, sort, wash, dry, and fold the linens.
  • Iron linens as necessary.
  • Distribute the clean linens among departments in accordance with the routine schedule.
  • Wash, dry, and mend residents' personal clothing, as directed by their supervisor.
  • Observes and follows all infection control and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Assist in transporting laundry containers of soiled linen, and clean linen carts.
  • Operates commercial and residential washing machines and dryer.
  • Keeps accurate records of linen inventory.
  • Maintains equipment and laundry areas are clean, and keeps areas in a neat, orderly, and safe manner.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess at minimum a High School Education or equivalent (GED).
  • Laundry experience preferred, but not required, as on the job training will be provided.
  • Experience in healthcare facility preferred.
  • Willing to work beyond normal working hours, weekends, holidays, and/or on other shifts and in other positions, when necessary
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language sufficiently and comprehensively enough to perform the essential functions of the job.
