What is a laundry position?

Laundry positions involve cleaning, sorting, drying, folding, and sometimes ironing linens, clothes, or uniforms in facilities such as hotels, hospitals, or laundromats. Employees in these roles operate washing and drying machines, handle detergents and chemicals, and may be responsible for minor maintenance of the machines. Attention to detail and time management are important, as laundry workers ensure that items are cleaned efficiently and returned in good condition. Some positions may also include customer service responsibilities, depending on the workplace.

What are the typical daily tasks and responsibilities in a laundry position?

In a laundry position, daily tasks usually include sorting soiled linens and garments, operating washing and drying machines, folding or hanging clean items, and inspecting for damage or stains. Employees may also be responsible for keeping track of inventory, using specialized cleaning chemicals, and maintaining cleanliness in the laundry area.
