Job Summary: Laundry Attendant

The Laundry Attendant keeps hotel linens and guest laundry clean, fresh, and ready for use by operating washers, dryers, and finishing equipment while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and cleanliness. This role supports daily hotel operations by ensuring timely linen turnaround, accurate handling of items, and a well-organized laundry area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and store linens (sheets, towels, uniforms, F&B linens) by type and soil level

  • Operate and maintain laundry equipment (washers, dryers, ironers/presses) safely and correctly

  • Inspect linens for stains, damage, and wear; rewash or remove items as needed

  • Stock and rotate clean linen in designated storage areas; assist with linen distribution to departments

  • Follow chemical handling, temperature, and load-size guidelines to protect linen quality

  • Keep laundry room and equipment clean; complete basic cleaning and end-of-shift shutdown tasks

  • Track linen counts or log items when required; report shortages or equipment issues promptly

  • Support housekeeping/operations with special laundry projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift/push/pull laundry carts, and work in a warm environment

  • Attention to detail and consistency (folding, sorting, stain spotting)

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Basic understanding of safety practices and chemical use (training provided)

  • Hotel/laundry experience preferred, but not required
