Job Summary:
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for collecting, washing, drying, folding, ironing, and distributing residents' personal clothing, linens, towels, and facility laundry. This position helps maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents while ensuring laundry is handled with care, accuracy, and confidentiality. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  •  Collect soiled linens, towels, and residents' personal clothing from designated areas. 
  •  Sort laundry according to fabric type, color, and washing instructions. 
  •  Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently. 
  •  Fold, hang, iron, and organize clean laundry for distribution. 
  •  Deliver clean linens and residents' clothing to the appropriate rooms and departments. 
  •  Label and track residents' personal clothing to minimize lost items. 
  •  Inspect laundry for stains, damage, or needed repairs and report concerns to the supervisor. 
  •  Maintain adequate inventory of linens and notify the supervisor when supplies are low. 
  •  Clean and sanitize laundry equipment and work areas according to infection control standards. 
  •  Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and facility policies. 
  •  Handle residents' belongings respectfully and maintain confidentiality. 
  •  Assist housekeeping with other cleaning duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  •  High school diploma or GED preferred. 
  •  Previous laundry or housekeeping experience in a healthcare, assisted living, or hospitality setting is preferred but not required. 
  •  Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment. 
  •  Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions. 
  •  Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  •  Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team. 
Physical Requirements
  •  Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. 
  •  Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance. 
  •  Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull laundry carts. 
  •  Ability to work in a warm, humid environment. 
Work Environment
