Job description

Job Description: Job consists of using laundering machines to clean linens and personal laundry. Loads articles into washer and ads specified amount of detergent or other cleaning agents. Lifts clean wet articles from washer and places them into dryers for measured time cycles. Sorts dry articles, folds and places items in appropriate container. Along with driving to various locations to pick up and drop off large bags of laundry with the company’s ProMaster Van besides any and all other tasks assigned.

Start Time and Days:  7 am - 11am, Monday - Friday, Overtime available on occasion

Environment:  No Scent.

Duties and Responsibilities: The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position. 

1. It is the driver's responsibility to make pick-ups and deliveries in a safe and professional manner.
2. Assures personal compliance to all State and Federal regulations including blood borne pathogens, infection control, use of hazardous materials, and fire safety.
3. Maintains a clean and orderly vehicle.

Physical Activity Requirements:  Lifting loads over 40 lbs.

Vaccination Requirements: Hepatitis B

Other Training, Skills, and Experience Requirements:

A High School diploma or equivalent 
A Clean driving record, no violations for last 5 years

The employee must demonstrate on an ongoing basis the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers.

Summary of Occupational Exposures:

Bloodborne Pathogens:
Tasks and procedures performed by employee involve risks classified by CDC as:
Category I (Direct contact with blood or other bodily fluids to which universal precautions apply)
Specific Task Exposure:
           Occasional Handling Soiled Linens and Clothing: Blood, urine, feces, vomit, wound exudates, semen/vaginal secretions, other body fluids.

The employee will be exposed to routine laundry chemicals.

Other Considerations and Requirements: The employee may be asked to perform other duties as assigned. Such duties will be within the scope of the employee’s training and ability. The employer reserves the right to modify this job description based upon the company needs.
