Job description

Plymouth Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is hiring a full-time Laundry Assistant!

$18 an hour, weekly pay. 30 hours a week.

As a member of our housekeeping team, you perform the day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department to ensure that the laundry department is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.

Education and Experience:

  • No education required, on-the-job training provided.

  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in laundry operations preferred, but not necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet the laundry needs of the facility and the residents.

  • Ensure laundry process completion and delivery of adequate linen levels in a timely manner.

  • Assure that all laundry machinery and equipment are in a safe and efficient working condition.

  • Maintains chemicals under safe conditions at all times.

  • Remove torn, worn, or soiled linen or clothing from inventory.

  • Mend and iron as necessary.

Specific Requirements:

  • The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.

  • Must be knowledgeable of laundry practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing laundry functions in the long-term care facility.
