Laundry Technician Status: Part-timeSchedule:  Monday - Friday (9am-2pm)
Location: Ovation Heartwood; 470 Maxwell Plz, Omaha, NE 68154 The Laundry Aide is responsible for providing laundry services for residents while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized laundry area. Responsibilities include collecting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing resident linens and personal clothing, operating laundry equipment, maintaining infection control standards, and ensuring resident belongings are handled with care. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing excellent service to seniors.

Job Functions

The Laundry Technician is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the Laundry Department and to deliver an excellent Guest experience.  Additional responsibilities include training, scheduling and supervising personnel within the department.  Holds Staff members accountable for achieving the cleanliness, organization and service standards of Ovation Sienna Hills.

The Laundry Technician is an hourly position reporting to the Laundry Supervisor with a work expectation of 40 hours per week.  

Qualifications (Essential)

·       Knowledge of laundry techniques (washing, drying, folding), chemical handling requirements and use of equipment.

·       Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with Residents, Management and Co-workers to their understanding.

·       Ability to provide legible communication 

Qualifications (Desired)

·       Hospitality experience as a Hotel or Condominium Laundry Technician or Laundry Assistant.

·       Franchise brand experience (Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, etc.)

·       Previous guest relations training

·       High school graduate or equivalent

·       Ability to communicate in a second language (preferably Spanish) 

Essential Job Functions 

·       Duties include weekly Resident bed linen changes, Resident personal laundry and commercial linen.

·       Ensure that laundry is picked up and dropped off in a timely manner and confirm that personal laundry is returned to the proper apartment.

·       Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.

·       Ability to get things done and make Residents and Co-workers happy.  When presented with an opportunity or challenge; your cup is half full (not half empty) and the answer to the question or problem is YES – we can get it done, fix the issue and take care of the problem.  You are resourceful and a Solution Provider.

·       Supports and cooperates with specific procedures and programs for: safety (including universal precautions and safe work practices), fire, risk management, disaster and security plans.  Report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.  Follows up and maintains compliance with all OSHA programs, policies and procedures. 

Working Conditions

·       Moves consistently during working hours.

·       Is involved with residents, family members, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions/circumstances.

·       Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.

·       Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.

·       Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).

·       Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.

·       May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.

·       Communicates with the medical team, nursing personnel, and other department personnel.
