What is your role?

The Employee Relations Manager – Latin America provides strategic and hands‑on leadership for employee and labor relations across Latin America but with a major focus on Mexico. The role serves as a regional subject‑matter expert and trusted advisor to business and HR leaders, ensuring effective union relations, compliance with labor laws, and consistent application of Corning’s employee relations standards across the region.

The position balances strategic oversight with direct operational involvement, particularly in union negotiations, collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), labor reforms, and complex employee relations matters.

Major responsibilities and tasks of the position:

  • Lead and coordinate union relationships and collective bargaining activities across  Mexico
  • Drive annual union negotiations, including preparation, negotiation strategy, execution, and follow‑up including coordinating of employee voting process if/when required
  • Act as a strategic advisor to regional and local HR leaders on employee relations, labor risk, and sensitive workforce issues
  • Support the legal/compliance department with complex ER matters such as disciplinary cases, grievances, investigations, and workforce changes
  • Partner closely with business leadership to support operational needs while managing employee relations risk
  • oversee and support the CBA legitimization process in Mexico, ensuring full legal compliance.

 

What do you need to have?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in employee and labor relations within Mexico
  • Proven hands‑on experience with union negotiations and CBAs, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments, in Mexico.
  • Strong working knowledge of Mexican labor law
  • Experience advising senior leaders on sensitive ER and labor relations matters.
