Last mile delivery jobs involve transporting packages or products from a store or warehouse directly to the customer. Your duties depend on the type of products that you deliver. A last mile driver, who is sometimes known as a final mile driver, can drive a truck, cargo or sprinter van, or a personal vehicle. If you deliver products like furniture or appliances, your responsibilities can include assembling or installing the items in the customers home. Some last mile drivers need to make deliveries before a deadline. If this is the case, you must plan your route to fit the timeline.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in last mile delivery, and why are they important?

Last mile delivery refers to the final step of the delivery process, where goods are transported from a distribution center or transportation hub to the end customer's location. This stage is considered the most critical and challenging part of the shipping process, as it directly affects customer satisfaction and often involves navigating complex urban or rural areas. Companies use various strategies and technologies to optimize last mile delivery, aiming to make it faster, more efficient, and cost-effective.
