Job description

Manage the administrative work flow and paperwork for the Service Department.  Assist the Service Location Manager in maintaining accurate and on-time reports and records relative to the service department’s operation within the dealership.

Responsibilities:

  • Opens work orders as directed by the Service Location Manager and reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing
  • Assists with the development and implementation of training of service personnel and may complete performance reviews of service staff
  • Assists in the implementation and management of the Service Department’s processes and procedures  
  • Supervises Service Clerks in daily job responsibilities
  • Handles customer calls and schedules Service Technicians
  • Updates customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from the customer work orders
  • Assists Service Clerk in creating and transferring JD LINK accounts
  • Prepares Service Technician efficiency reports
  • May assist with Service Technician learning paths
  • Processes warranty and product improvement claims including the computation of charges, submission and follow-up
  • May assist the Service Location Manager in developing, implementing and managing processes and procedures
  • Understands and ensures adherence to corporate and customer data policies
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Service Clerk or equivalent
  • Ability to lead and motivate others
  • Basic knowledge of accounting practices
  • Willingness to learn and work hard
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions, including Lasseter business systems
  • Knowledge of Deere and competitor equipment, and other allied products
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends and willingness to be on-call 24/7
  • Knowledge of office procedures
  • General understanding of mechanical/technical terms is preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
