Type of Opportunity: PRN FTE: 0.00 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: Varied Days and Hours (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

  • Instructs patients regarding magnetic resonance imaging procedures; prepares, positions, and manipulates patients to ensure appropriate placement for imaging.
  • Select appropriate imaging techniques, and calibrate console and peripheral hardware, as required.
  • Obtains images, produces film records and backups from desk to storage media, and transfers for desk to workstation.
  • Inspects for quality and completeness of exam.
  • Performs quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment and laser camera.
  • Performs physical inventories and maintains clinical supplies.
  • Provides instruction and guidance in magnetic resonance imaging procedures and equipment/facilities usage to staff and/or students in training.
  • Ensures adherence to established PHS/PMG and department policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety standards, HIPAA, and compliance regulations.
  • May assist in research and/or clinical subject scheduling.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate Degree preferred.
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging MRT (New Mexico licensure) required.
  • American Registry Radiologic Technologists R.T. (MR) (ARRT)
  • Or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist ARMRIT required.
  • BLS Certification is required at the time of hire.

Registered Technologist Trainees/Apprentices:

  • PMRT (Provisional NM licensure) required.
  • American Registry Radiologic Technologists R.T. (R) (ARRT) required.
  • Successful completion of ARRT(MR) Boards within two years of hire.
