Position: Laser Tracker Operator

Schedule: Day Shift (Monday- Friday 6a-4:45p + Saturday 6a-12p)

Summary of Position

The Laser Tracker Operator performs highaccuracy dimensional inspection using laser trackers and related metrology equipment. This role ensures that complex assemblies, tooling, and fabricated components meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and AS9100 quality standards. The Tracker Operator interprets engineering models and blueprints, sets up and executes measurement routines, analyzes data, and communicates results to Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.

Essential Functions

Daily roles include collaborating in a team-oriented environment with cross functional workers.

  • Responsible for reading and understanding general job requirements as supplied in the QA job folder by the Lead Inspector
  • Execution of required Build support or QA function as dictated by the job lineup, TIR and quality plan
  • Population of the TIR (Tool Inspection Record) or equivalent customer provided document
  • Initiation of any tool tag as a resulting from the inspection activity (In Process or Non-conformance)
  • Assist Lead Inspectors, as necessary, with any customer buy-off effort
  • Responsible for maintaining Laser Tracker equipment utilized to perform job duties
  • Utilization of the Document and Data control procedure to initiate, maintain and complete all electronic inspection records
  • Conformance to all applicable QMS procedures and work instructions
  • Follow OSHA safety guidelines, and ITAR compliance
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to work independently with written and verbal direction
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good understanding of GD&T/FT&A
  • Verisurf software
  • 3 years of tooling experience
  • 3 years of QA experience
  • High School Diploma or recognized equivalent
