Job Description

Peerless-AV is seeking a dependable and motivated Tube Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and monitor our tube laser equipment to produce high-quality parts used in our products. If you have experience with laser cutting, CNC equipment, or metal fabrication—and enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment—we encourage you to apply. We are willing to train the right candidate who has a strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience

  • Experience operating a tube laser, cutting laser, CNC machine, or similar manufacturing equipment preferred.
  • Metal fabrication or manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Forklift or material handling equipment experience is beneficial but can be learned on the job.

Skills

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read measurements and perform basic math.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate tube laser equipment according to production schedules.
  • Load raw material and unload finished parts safely and efficiently.
  • Perform machine changeovers, including tooling and lens changes as needed.
  • Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality specifications.
  • Enter production information accurately into the manufacturing system (Acumatica).
  • Work closely with the Laser Programmer to identify opportunities for program improvements and increased efficiency.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance on the machine and surrounding work area.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as required.
  • Follow all company safety policies and operating procedures.
  • Meet daily production and quality goals.
  • Assist with other manufacturing duties as assigned. 

WORKING CONDITION:

  • Must be able to work overtime, including weekends as needed.
  • Must be physically capable of standing/bending/stooping/squeezing 8+ hour shift(s)
  • Must be able to lift, carry and/or move up to 30 lbs. without assistance. Anything above 30 lbs. requires a team lift.
  • Must have the ability to push, pull material and equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to wear required safety PPE including gloves and glasses.
