We are seeking a skilled Flexographic Press Operator to set up, operate, and maintain our Mark Andy press to produce high-quality printed materials. The ideal candidate will have flexographic printing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a focus on safety, quality and efficiency. The operator will ensure production targets are met while maintaining equipment and adhering to company standards.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical or printing certification preferred).

• 2+ years' experience operating Mark Andy or similar flexographic presses.

• Strong understanding of flexographic printing processes, inks, plates, and substrates.

• Mechanical troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to read job orders and production specifications.

• Good color vision and attention to detail.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate the Mark Andy flexographic press according to job specifications, including mounting printing plates, adjusting ink flow, and setting register for accurate color and print quality.

• Monitor press performance during production runs and perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of equipment.

• Handle printing materials efficiently, including loading/unloading rolls, managing web paths, and operating unwind/rewind sections.

• Maintain ink systems, control viscosity, and ensure accurate color matching throughout production.

• Inspect printed materials for quality, color accuracy, and defects; minimize scrap and waste.

• Maintain proper documentation of production runs, materials used, and quality checks.

• Follow company safety procedures and maintain housekeeping standards in work area and other assigned areas.

• Coordinate daily production plans with prepress, quality control, and production teams to meet deadlines.

• Assist in training assistant press operators when needed.

• Set up and maintain key press components, including anilox rolls, edge guides, doctor blades, print stations, and ink distribution systems.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with pressure-sensitive labels or flexible packaging.

• Knowledge of color management and print quality standards.

• Experience with preventive maintenance of printing equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods

• Ability to lift materials up to 40-50 lbs

• Skilled in handling printing plates, inks, and press components with precision and care.
