Job description

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is seeking a Solution Architect I to enhance and accelerate application development while ensuring solutions align with established enterprise standards and reference architectures. This role is being repurposed to focus on automation platforms (UiPath), Agentic AI, and cloud-based capabilities, which are central to scaling GenAI-enabled workflows and advancing AI-driven operational efficiency. In this role, you will provide focused solution architecture leadership-designing secure, scalable blueprints, patterns, and frameworks that ensure emerging automation and AI capabilities are delivered consistently, governed effectively, and aligned with enterprise architecture and SDLC practices.
Our ideal Solution Architect I will bring:
Solution Architecture & Design Fundamentals
  • Strong experience designing solution architectures that enhance application delivery while aligning logical and physical designs with enterprise standards and reference architectures.
  • Ability to translate business and technical requirements into clear, end-to-end solution blueprints within an assigned domain of specialty.
  • Hands-on experience creating solution roadmaps, framework templates, models, and architecture artifacts that are practical, reusable, and consumable by delivery teams.

Automation, Agentic AI & Emerging Capabilities
  • Experience or strong interest in automation platforms (such as UiPath), Agentic AI patterns, and cloud-based technologies that support GenAI-enabled workflows.
  • Understanding of how automation and AI capabilities integrate with applications, data, and services to drive scalable operational efficiency.

Collaboration & Architecture Alignment
  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical teams, architects, and leadership to align solution designs with broader architecture strategies and architectural runways.
  • Ability to bridge communication between technical and business audiences, clearly explaining complex architecture concepts and tradeoffs.

Delivery Practices & Professional Skills
  • Solid foundation in Agile and solution development practices, with experience working within SDLC frameworks such as SAFe and other Agile methodologies.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple efforts, work independently, and contribute effectively within a team environment.

  • Healthcare Data Domain Expertise

  • Create strategic roadmaps, framework templates/models, and solution blueprints in area of specialty
  • Establish value of implemented roadmaps and create reference architectures which are searchable and usable by teams and systems
  • Collaborate with technical teams and management to devise architecture strategy, roadmaps for alignment with other architecture domains and architectural runways for backlogs and planning
  • Collaborate with business and IS stakeholders, architects, and management, to ensure business architecture and Applications Solutions processes are aligned with business strategy and IS standards.
  • Create appropriate documentation, training, and transformation patterns within domain

Job Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent experience is defined as 4 years of professional work experience.

Experience
  • 5 years - Technical experience in area of specialty

Skills/Certifications
  • Certification and/or experience in domain/area of specialty. Specialty Areas (As relates to the Application); Systems, Security, Language (JAVA, .Net), Data, Domain (Provider, Claims, Digital, etc.), SDLS (SAFe), Integration (SOA).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Must be a team player, be organized and have the ability to handle multiple projects
