TX-STAR Speech Language Services works with school districts throughout Texas to provide students with dependable speech and language support. We are currently hiring Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants for school-based opportunities in Austin and nearby communities.
These roles are a strong fit for professionals who want to help students improve communication skills while receiving direction and supervision from a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, you will provide direct support to students and assist with the day-to-day delivery of speech and language services.
In this role, you will:
Implement therapy activities and interventions assigned by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist
Provide individual and small-group services that address student communication goals
Support needs involving articulation, language development, fluency, and related communication areas
Record session data and help monitor student response to therapy
Organize materials, visual supports, and activities for upcoming sessions
Maintain complete service logs and other required records within established timelines
Communicate regularly with the supervising SLP regarding student performance and service needs
Work with teachers, special education staff, and campus teams to support carryover in the classroom
Follow district expectations, supervision guidelines, treatment plans, and applicable compliance requirements
Qualifications for This Position
Active Texas Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant license
Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related area of study
Ability to practice under the direction of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
Strong communication, documentation, organization, and scheduling skills
Ability to build positive working relationships with students, educators, and support professionals
Valid Texas driver's license if the assignment requires travel between campuses
Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred
