Job description

Position Overview

The Landscape Enhancement Installation Crew Member is a hands-on position dedicated to constructing and executing upgraded landscape project installations for commercial properties. This role focuses on hardscape additions, plant/tree bed overhauls, drainage improvements, sod installation, and seasonal site enhancements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Enhancement Crew Leader/Foreman with project execution, layout, and material installation.

  • Site preparation including excavation, grading, soil conditioning, wheelbarrowing materials, and debris removal.

  • Plant trees, shrubs, perennials, groundcovers, and lay sod according to project plans and specifications.

  • Assist in the installation of hardscape elements such as retaining walls, pavers, mulch, river rock, and drainage systems.

  • Load, unload, and secure heavy machinery, tools, and bulk materials from trucks and trailers.

  • Ensure collection, cleaning, and secure storage of company-owned tools and equipment at the end of each work shift.

  • Assist in other divisions, including routine grounds maintenance or floriculture, as needed.

  • Assist with snow removal operations during winter months, as required.

  • Maintain reliable transportation to and from the branch location.

  • Ensure the safe operation and basic maintenance of enhancement equipment and tools:

  • Compact Equipment: Mini-Track loaders, Mini-Excavators, tillers, and sod cutters

  • Power Tools: Chainsaws, augers, string trimmers, and backpack blowers

  • Hand Tools: Rakes, shovels, tampers, levels, wheelbarrows

  • Heavy Equipment: Wheel tractors or skid steers (on occasion, under supervision)
