What are landscape structures?

Landscape structures are built or installed elements within outdoor environments that enhance functionality, aesthetics, and usability. These can include features such as playground equipment, gazebos, pergolas, retaining walls, benches, and water features. Landscape structures are designed to complement the natural surroundings and often serve as focal points, gathering spaces, or play areas. They are commonly used in parks, gardens, schools, and public spaces to create inviting and purposeful environments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a landscape structures designer?

To thrive as a Landscape Structures Designer, you need expertise in landscape architecture, structural design, and site planning, often supported by a degree in landscape architecture or a related field. Proficiency with CAD software, 3D modeling tools, and familiarity with building codes and sustainable materials are typically required. Creativity, attention to detail, and strong communication skills help you collaborate effectively with clients, engineers, and construction teams. These skills ensure that landscape structures are both functional and aesthetically pleasing while meeting safety and environmental standards.

ABOUT LANDSCAPE STRUCTURES

Landscape Structures is the leader in commercial playground equipment design and manufacturing. Since 1971, we have transformed the landscape of play by bringing captivating play spaces to communities and schools across the globe. Everyone at our employee-owned company welcomes the responsibility of creating experiences that honor and include every child’s unique abilities. We believe play is life-changing. Because play, when designed for everyone, brings out the best in all of us.
