Job description

Sales Operations Manager
Since its founding in 2000, Walong Marketing, Inc. is a leading distributor of authentic Asian food products, serving Asian American communities across the United States. Our mission is to bring the highest quality Asian ingredients and goods to market, supported by a global sourcing network and five strategically located distribution centers nationwide. With a strong commitment to cultural heritage, product excellence, and customer satisfaction, Walong continues to play a key role in connecting communities through food. We are proud to be a trusted partner to retailers nationwide and a driving force in the Asian food industry. Become part of Walong Marketing, where tradition, innovation, and a strong sense of community drive everything we do.

Summary:
Walong Marketing is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and strategic Sales Ops Manager to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Head of Mainstream, and dotted line to VP Merchandising, this pivotal role bridges the gap between high-level business development and on-the-ground sales operations. You will be responsible for driving growth through new online and offline channels, managing critical line reviews for major retail partners (including Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco, and Target), and overseeing the administrative and logistical backbone of our sales pipeline. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical background (Category Management, retail, e-commerce experience) and is comfortable balancing strategic growth projects with hands-on operational execution.

Responsibilities:
Mainstream & New Business Development:
  • Channel Expansion: Proactively identify, evaluate, and develop new online and offline sales channels to expand market share and drive revenue growth.
  • Trade Show Representation: Travel occasionally (4–5 times per year) to key industry trade shows (including Southern California, Las Vegas, New York, Chicago, and San Diego) to support the team, network with prospects, and represent the brand.
  • E-commerce Strategy: Leverage e-commerce expertise to optimize digital sales and explore new online retail opportunities.
Retailer Line Reviews & Presentation Management:
  • Material Submission Management: Lead the preparation and submission of materials for major retailer Line Reviews, navigating the peak operational window from November through May/June.
  • Sales Collateral: Design and populate highly accurate retailer price lists, presentation templates, and customized “Sell Sheets” to ensure the sales team is equipped for success.
  • Data Coordination: Synthesize and pull pricing and product information directly from the internal Merchandising database to ensure total data alignment.
Supercenters: National Accounts management:
  • Big Box Account Management: Support the strategic execution of Line Reviews and ongoing operational needs for tier-one accounts, including Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco, and Target, Kroger, Albertsons, and other large retailers etc.
  • Broker-Sales Admin & Reporting: Generate regular sales reports, track KPIs, and calculate broker commissions accurately.
  • Order Fulfillment: Manage Purchase Order (PO) fulfillment processes and collaborate with logistics to ensure seamless execution.
  • Sample Logistics: Take a hands-on approach to managing physical inventory samples, including grabbing, picking, and shipping unit/case samples for retail buyers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • 3–7 years of experience in retail sales operations, account management, or business development—ideally working with major big-box retailers.
  • A background in Sales Ops, National Accounts Management, Category Manager (CM), or Operations or deep familiarity with big box merchandising strategies.
  • Prior experience in the e-commerce landscape, specifically with marketplaces.
  • Advanced proficiency in data management, merchandising databases, and MS Excel/Powerpoint.
  • Strong presentation building and multitasking skills for retailer sell sheets and Line Review proposal submissions.
  • Ability to manage physical sample logistics (picking/packing samples) and willingness to travel 4–5 times a year for trade shows in SoCal, Las Vegas, New York, Chicago.
  • Exceptionally organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing tight timelines during peak line review seasons.
  • Problem solver and can work independently.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May require standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Position Details:
  • Employment Type: Full Time.
  • Location: 6530 Altura Blvd, Buena Park, CA 90620.
  • Available to work on weekends and holidays as necessary.

Benefits:
  • Medical Insurance.
  • 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with 4% Company Match.
  • Paid Time Off.
  • Employee Discount.
