Garden Center Operations Teammate


Your Future Role:

Our operations teammates fill a critical role in the receiving and stocking products to the selling floor. This active, outdoor role is always on the move completing activities from driving a forklift/vehicles, to restocking our inventory, loading our customers vehicles and moving product as we transition seasons. Teammates in the position communicate with customers frequently throughout the day and supports the sales team in getting products moved to the proper areas as well as maintaining the cleanliness of the facility.


Your Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Upholds Moana Nursery's strict safety policies
  • Shows up on time ready work
  • Completes thorough and accurate pre-trip safety checks on equipment
  • Communicates regularly with manager to ensure Preventative Maintenance is completed regularly
  • Answers customer questions about our products and services
  • Promptly responds to customer needs, requests for service or assistance
  • Communicates using radios to other Moana teammates
  • Drives courteously and defensively every day while on forklift
  • Carefully loads product into vehicles and unloads them safely for our customers
  • Lifts and moves heavy objects such as trees, bags of soil, fountains
  • Communicates with customers if there is a delay in loading
  • Has the ability and willingness to interact with and provide exceptional customer service to our customers

Physical Requirements & Activity:

  • Applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Applicant must be able to work outdoors for an extended period of time
  • Applicant must be able to work on their feet for an extended period of time

Expertise & Experience Requirements:

  • Applicant must be able to certified for forklift usage
  • Experience for this role is not necessary, but a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are

Nice To Have Skills or Experiences:

  • Experience operating heavy equipment
  • Experience working a Point of Sale system
  • Experience in the landscaping industry

Your Future Work Schedule:

Our retail stores are open 7 days a week and we are busiest on the weekend.  We are looking for teammates that can work during the week, over the weekends and be flexible to accommodate the changing retail environment.  Please make sure you list your availability on the application. 


Your Future Salary & Benefits:
The starting rate for this position is $15.00 per hour and increases based on experience, expertise and responsibilities.  Other benefits for this role include:
