Position Overview
The onsite HR Manager is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management and Distribution Center leadership in supporting designated distribution centers and/or geographic regions. This HR Manager is focused on providing on-site support at our Pleasant Prairie Distribution Center, with a focus on the following functional areas: employee relations, safety, training, performance management, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.
What you'll do:
  • Work closely with local leadership to establish a strong Great Place to Work culture, including through associate engagement and event planning
  • Manage people impacts of any organizational change and ensure communication with impacted associates as appropriate
  • Ensure associate training is implemented locally for new hires, safety, and ongoing development
  • Ensure appropriate time management for hourly associates including break schedules in partnership with local management
  • Create and implement appropriate policies using SiteOne policies as a guide for DC specific needs
  • Answer escalated employee relations and manager calls. Coach managers regarding employee relations matters.
  • Answer questions regarding benefits, employee relations matters, transfer requests, wages, and working conditions. Follow up on employee questions. Report any concerns to supervision and HRBP and assist with maintaining a positive working environment
  • Complete appropriate administrative documents in the change of an employee relationship, check for accuracy, and maintain appropriate staffing documents
  • Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
  • Maintain human resource information system records and compile reports from the database
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations

Compensation:
  • Compensation for this role is targeted between $95,000 and $115,000 annually. Final compensation may vary based on experience, skills, performance incentives, and internal equity.

Skills We Are Seeking
  • 5+ years of HR Generalist and/or HR Business Partner experience, including some experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence at varying levels across the organization
  • Creativity in planning events that support associate engagement and/or community involvement
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and navigate in a highly matrixed environment
  • Effective listening skills with flexibility in approach to solutions
  • Ability to work with little supervision-we are looking for someone who is self-motivated and proactive-consistently taking the initiative to do things before being asked by others or forced to by events
  • Experience with employment/labor law strongly preferred
  • OSHA knowledge preferred
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred, but not required
  • Bachelor's Degree required
