Job Title: Landscape Maintenance
Reports To: Facilities Director
Location: Parkland

You will be responsible for:
  • Appearance of Properties:
    • Performing weekly landscape duties, including mowing, edging, and trimming lawns using various lawn care equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and edgers.
    • Removing weeds, pests, and debris from lawns and garden beds.
    • Pruning and trimming trees, shrubs, and hedges to maintain desired shape and size.
    • Performing landscaping tasks such as planting flowers, bushes, trees, and mulching the property.
    • Picking up trash and debris daily.
  • Upkeep of Equipment
    • Performing routine maintenance on landscape equipment and supplies.
    • Maintaining landscaping equipment to ensure proper function and safety.
    • Maintaining the irrigation system by programming timers, adding chemicals to rust preventor tanks, replacing or repairing sprinkler heads, etc.
    • Maintaining clean and organized areas of work, equipment, vehicles, and trailers.
    • Ensuring proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Communication:
    • Working closely with church staff regarding landscaping matters.
    • Reporting needs and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work orders and checking supply levels.
    • Communicating effectively with the Supervisor to understand the lawn care needs, best practices, and address any concerns or requests.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Following safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
    • Keeping accurate records of work performed, including materials used, costs incurred, expense reporting, and hours worked.
    • Staying informed about best practices and trends in lawn care and landscaping techniques.
    • Collaborating with staff members and volunteers to complete larger projects efficiently and on schedule.
    • Coordinating with vendors for landscape-related items.
    • Occasionally assisting with facilities and minor maintenance, collaborating on larger projects.
    • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

You should know:
  • This is a full-time, contracted position that requires working in multiple locations.
  • You will report to the Facilities Director.
  • You may have to work evenings and/or weekends to assist with special events or emergencies.
