Landscape Construction Laborer

Location: Tempe, AZ
Pay: $22–$26/hour, based on experience
Employment: Full-time, year-round

Refined Gardens specializes in high-end residential landscape construction throughout the Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Paradise Valley areas. We are looking for experienced Landscape Construction Laborers who take pride in their work, understand the importance of quality, and want to be part of a professional construction team.

This is a hands-on field position working on detailed landscape construction projects where craftsmanship, productivity, and attention to detail matter.

What You'll Do

As a Landscape Construction Laborer, you'll work as part of a construction crew completing high-end residential landscape projects.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Perform landscape construction work according to plans, specifications, and direction from the Foreman
  • Assist with site layout, grading, excavation, and preparation
  • Install irrigation systems, drainage, steel edging, plants, soil, and landscape materials
  • Assist with hardscape, masonry, concrete, and other landscape construction
  • Load, unload, stage, and organize construction materials
  • Safely operate power tools and construction equipment based on experience and training
  • Operate skid steers, mini excavators, compact equipment, and other machinery when qualified
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
  • Protect existing structures, finishes, landscaping, and client property while working
  • Follow company safety procedures and proper construction methods
  • Identify potential problems and communicate them to the Foreman
  • Help maintain tools, equipment, trucks, and construction materials
  • Work efficiently as part of a crew while maintaining our quality standards

Construction Experience

We're looking for candidates with experience in one or more areas of landscape construction, including:

  • Grading and site preparation
  • Irrigation installation
  • Drainage
  • Hardscape and base preparation
  • Masonry and concrete
  • Steel edging
  • Planting and soil preparation
  • Landscape lighting
  • Equipment operation
  • General landscape construction

  • Previous landscape construction or related construction experience preferred
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools
  • Equipment operating experience is a plus
  • Ability to follow plans, measurements, and instructions
  • Dependable attendance and reliable transportation to our Tempe facility
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a crew
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Ability to perform physical construction work and lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round in Arizona conditions
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record preferred
  • English/Spanish bilingual ability is a plus
