District Sales Manager - SPECIALTY BUSINESS UNITS

This position is based in Phoenix, AZ, and will cover Arizona and New Mexico.
The SouthWest District Sales Manager for the Hayward Specialty Business Units is a key position that is responsible for executing the selling efforts for 4 business units within the Hayward Organization; Paramount Pool Products, J&J Electronics Pool/Spa/Fountain Lighting, Sollos Outdoor Landscape Lighting, and AguaGevity. This individual will be calling on the Landscape and Irrigation (L&I) channel as well as the Pool Products channel for Hayward. This individual will be responsible for converting new dealers to the brand, retaining a dealer base and supporting our wholesale distributors who supply Hayward product to the trade. This role works side by side with the broader Hayward pool team as a brand specialist and will work alongside our outside independent sales firms representing our selling efforts into the Landscape channel. This position manages the SouthWest South Region and you must be willing to travel and manage two different market channels.
Responsibilities :
  • Drive market penetration of the products and gain market share working side by side in field with outside sales professionals calling on existing and prospective customers.
  • Works with the Hayward outside sales team to drive sales of Paramount, J&J Electronics, Sollos Landscape Lighting, and AguaGevity into the Pool and Spa channel.
  • Represents company at trade shows and trade association meetings to promote product.
  • Functions as liaison between customer service department, technical service, engineering and other departments as appropriate.
  • Personally, conducts sales activities with large accounts and must be comfortable in dealing with people from the workforce to the board room.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales reports and statistics to address support needs and facilitate opportunities for growth.
  • Conducts and reviews market analyses to determine customer demand, volume potential, price position, and assists in developing sales campaigns.
  • Represents company at trade shows, industry events, and trade association meetings to promote product.
  • Executes a planned sales strategy, to maximize return from the accounts and to meet the sales quotas established for the division.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive list and profile of key accounts and contacts (direct and indirect).
  • Functions as a product specialist training other sales team members on selling techniques and product knowledge related specifically to the division. • Works with the marketing department to support efforts in market identification, size, sales channels, technical manuals and materials, trade literature and estimates as needed.
  • Submits a monthly update of forecast for the projected gross sales for the business by region.

Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
  • Minimum of 3-5 years related sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the Pool or landscape and irrigation industry is preferred.
  • Personal computer skills and mechanical capability are essential.
  • Must have strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated successful prior sales management.

  • This is a field selling position and will require a minimum 40% travel
