THE COMPANY

Our client is a well-regarded landscape architecture firm with deep roots in the South Florida design community. The studio works across a diverse range of project types from luxury residential estates and boutique hospitality environments to large-scale master-planned communities and is known for its commitment to design excellence, contextually responsive planting strategies, and a collaborative, studio-first culture. With a growing pipeline of high-profile work across the Miami and Palm Beach markets, the firm is expanding its senior leadership team.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The firm is seeking a Senior Associate Landscape Architect to take on a pivotal leadership role within the studio. This is not a production-only position you will lead projects, own client relationships, manage consultant teams, and help shape the direction of the practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead landscape architecture projects end-to-end, from initial concept and schematic design through construction administration and project close-out
  • Develop and present design concepts, planting strategies, construction documents, and specification packages with clarity and design conviction
  • Coordinate across a full consultant team including civil engineers, architects, MEP, irrigation designers ensuring seamless integration and on-schedule delivery
  • Own project schedules, budgets, and deliverable milestones, keeping clients and internal teams aligned throughout
  • Manage the Florida permitting process including municipal, county, and South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) submissions and responses
  • Mentor junior landscape architects and designers, modeling a culture of design rigor, professional growth, and collaborative problem-solving
  • Serve as a primary client contact throughout the life of each project, maintaining trust, transparency, and a high standard of service
  • Support business development through proposals, RFQ responses, and participation in client presentations and industry events

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution (required)
  • Florida Landscape Architect licensure (required or actively in progress)
  • 8-15 years of professional experience in landscape architecture, with demonstrated project leadership at multiple scales
  • Strong portfolio reflecting design excellence across residential, hospitality, mixed-use, or resort project types
  • Deep familiarity with Florida native plant material, tropical planting design, and South Florida-specific site conditions
  • Working knowledge of Florida building and permitting codes, SFWMD regulations, and local municipal review processes
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp required; Rhino or Lumion a plus
  • Experience leading landscape architecture projects end-to-end through construction administration is a plus
  • Experience coordinating multi-discipline consultant teams including civil, architecture, MEP, and irrigation is a plus
  • Experience owning project schedules and budgets and managing multiple projects simultaneously is a plus
  • Experience mentoring junior landscape architects and designers is a plus
  • Professional experience delivering projects in South Florida, including the Miami and/or Palm Beach markets, is a plus
